The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation – Long Island Region and Captree Bait and Tackle are pleased to announce that the annual Snapper and Crab Fishing Derby at Captree State Park will be held on Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm each day.
Join us for a fun-filled weekend of fishing where young anglers can compete for 12 prizes each day, including awards for the heaviest crab and snapper in three different age groups. Entry is free with registration required on the day of the event at Captree Bait and Tackle; please note there is an $8 vehicle use fee for the park.
