Great Neck Library Board of Trustees Election

Great Neck Library Election: Monday, October 26, 2026, 9:00 am - 9:00 pm

Eligible voters will elect a total of five seats:

Four seats expiring in January 2027 – Two on the Board of Trustees (Liman Mimi Hu and Rory Lancman) and two on the Nominating Committee (Daniel Pitt Stoller and Joanna Stolove)

One vacant seat on the Board of Trustees (Brachah Goykadosh), with a remaining two-year term.

SLATE of CANDIDATES

• Daniel Straub for the expiring seat of Liman Mimi Hu, Board of Trustees
• Liman Mimi Hu and David Shahverdi for the expiring seat of Rory Lancman, Board of Trustees
• Krish Soundararajan and Lynne Bursky-Tammam for the expiring Vacant Seat, Board of Trustees
• Leon Manoucheri and Melissa Jurin for the expiring seat of Daniel Pitt Stoller, Nominating Committee
• Ilana Scheiner Kroll and Debra Kaufman for the expiring seat of Joanna Stolove, Nominating Committee

HOW to VOTE

To vote, you must be 18 years of age* or older, a resident of the Great Neck School District, and either a valid library card holder by the Record Date of October 5, 2026, 5:00 PM, or a registered voter with the Nassau County Board of Elections. Residents may also elect to vote by proxy. See the Important Dates box for more information. For general questions about the election, please email botelection@greatnecklibrary.org.

* To vote at the library election, if your 18^th birthday occurs on or before the record date of October 5, 2026, you must update your library card to an adult library card and/or register to vote with the Nassau County Board of Elections before the record date of October 5, 2026 at 5:00 PM.

WHERE to VOTE

• Residents living in zip codes 11023, 11024, and 11363 vote at the Main Library Community Room (159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, NY 11023)
• Residents living in zip code 11021 vote at the Great Neck Village Hall (2 Gussack Plaza, Great Neck, NY 11021)
• Residents living in zip codes 11020, 11030, 11040, and 11362 vote at the Parkville Branch Library (10 Campbell Street, New Hyde Park, NY 11040)

IMPORTANT DATES

• September 14: Proxy request forms available at our locations and online at greatnecklibrary.org/library-election
• October 8: Meet the Candidates Night at Main Library Community Room
• October 20: Last day for the library to mail Proxy Ballots.
• October 23 before 5:00 PM: Completed Proxies must be received at the Main Post Office on Welwyn Road or deposited in a locked box at the Main Library, Lakeville Branch, Station Branch, or the Parkville Branch on this date ONLY.
