Great Neck Library’s 2026 Children’s Summer Challenge kickoff!

The Great Neck Library invites you and your family to celebrate the launch of our 2026 Children’s Summer Challenge on June 26th. This year’s theme, "Unearth a Story," takes young participants on an educational journey. Children will explore the thrilling worlds of archaeology, paleontology, and personal discovery.

The fun kicks off at 11:00 AM with an interactive children's concert by Songs for Seeds! Their high-energy performances offer effortless fun for parents and pure joy for kids. Registration is appreciated but not required. Next, at 2:00 PM join us at the Main Community Room for our Prehistoric Market Fair. Kids can explore hands-on stations packed with dinosaurs, paleontology, archaeology, and gardening. We will wrap up the celebration at 4:00 PM with our monthly Pokémon Club, featuring tons of Ground-type fun!

Sign up for the 2026 Children’s Summer Reading Challenge at any of our Great Neck library branches! Participants are qualified for various prizes and raffle drawings. The program spans from June 1st to September 5th. We look forward to welcoming you weekly to collect rewards and earn entries for the grand finale raffle.
