According to the UCCJEA, the Parental Kidnapping Act of 1980, and NY Penal Law 135, what happened with my daughter is kidnapping. My daughter changed her appearance, and was gone. She was brought across state lines. I was prevented from seeing her for 1305 days. My son (her brother) also was prevented from seeing her.
Florida lawyers frequently mention the UCCJEA. However in NY, it certainly seems people want to pretend it does not exist!
If more people were arrested for parental/family kidnapping than family courts could not attempt to make money from these cases
