Quantum Rehabilitation and Nursing Awards Inaugural Scholarship to Aspiring Dental Professional

Quantum Rehabilitation and Nursing at Middle Island has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Teagan Frenke, a recent Rocky Point high school graduate who plans to pursue a career in dentistry. Frenke will begin her college studies at Suffolk County Community College this fall. The scholarship, established this year by Quantum Rehabilitation and Nursing, was created to recognize and support high school students who demonstrate a commitment to entering the healthcare field.

During a presentation ceremony, Solitaire Branch, BSN, RN, Medical Educator at Quantum Rehabilitation and Nursing, addressed attendees at the podium, and Lisa Caffrey presented Frenke with a college-themed tote bag as a gift.

“Teagan’s essay highlighted her growth and her compassion for helping others,” said Branch. “She recognized something in herself and knew that healthcare was the path for her, she found her calling in wanting to keep everyone smiling. She put in the extra effort to excel academically, professionally, and in her hands-on clinical skills, earning her a place in the National Technical Honor Society. As Employee of the Month, she delivered the closing remarks at the OSEAS Recognition Day Ceremony and took third place in the SkillsUSA competition for New York State. Teagan will make the dental experience more comfortable and positive for every patient she serves. With her, patients will feel at ease and leave with their smiles shining brighter.”

The scholarship reflects Quantum Rehabilitation and Nursing’s broader mission of serving the Long Island community, not only through the care it provides within its facility, but by investing in the healthcare workforce of the future. Quantum plans to continue offering the award on an annual basis to deserving students from the region.

“My mom has been my best friend and my biggest inspiration throughout this entire journey. I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare because I love helping people, especially kids, but I wasn't sure exactly where I fit in. She’s the one who pointed me toward dentistry, and from the moment I started exploring it, I knew it was the right path for me,” said Frenke.
