Last June, the Riverhead Free Library and Quality Parks made this pollinator garden with bee friendly plants a success. All plants were locally grown by me, under Quality Parks, as the grower and nursery manager. At the Riverhead Library Board Trustee meeting, Trustee Eileen Mackey presented the garden design, and was very pleased at the cost and quality of the plants [Ref 1].

Plants were staged at the entrance of the Riverhead Free Library. The plants included a variety of asters and milkweeds, and other natives selected for color, shade to sun tolerance, pollinator benefit, spread and height characteristics, and soil conditions. Parsley and thyme were also planted for butterfly benefit.

Thank you Riverhead Free Library Trustees and the many volunteer planters for this bee friendly garden addition to the library's landscaped entrance. Quality Parks is pleased to have had the opportunity to continue its conservation and education charity mission.

Eileen Mackey does final watering for the day, and will monitor over the summer.
