Kyle Strober, Executive Director of the Association for a Better Long Island, (ABLI) has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the New York State Economic Development Council (NYSEDC). Mr. Strober brings over a decade of experience and expertise to the Board having served as U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer's Long Island Regional Director prior to his current role as the Executive Director of the ABLI.

The NYSEDC represents economic development professionals and organizations across New York whose mission is to spur private sector economic development that creates jobs and investment through public/private partnership. The organization has nearly 1000 hundred members, including the leadership of industrial development agencies and local development corporations, financial institutions utilities, chambers of commerce, higher education institutions, community colleges and private business.

As an advocate for a strong and vibrant regional economy, The ABLI represents some $15 billion in commercial, industrial, retail, and residential real estate across Long Island. Its mission includes supporting initiatives that include infrastructure investment, a reduced tax burden, an efficient energy grid, responsible development, and the ability to attract and retain the next generation of Long Islanders.

Mr. Strober is known and respected for his ability to work side by side, in a bipartisan manner, with the region's federal, state, town, county, and village officials along with government agencies, the region’s business leaders, labor leaders, environmentalists, and civic associations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.

“I am honored to join the NYS EDC as it is a crucial enterprise that strengthens our state’s economy and our region’s future. We have an important story to tell, especially at a time when it is more difficult than ever to create a strong, diverse, and innovative economy,” stated Strober.

“Kyle’s knowledge, experience, and understanding of long island and economic development programs makes him an ideal candidate to join our board, said Ryan Silva, Executive Director of the NYSEDC. “We look forward to working with Kyle to advocate for economic development policy and develop programs that will drive economic growth on Long Island and across New York State.”
