View in Oakdale Welcomes Keith McConnell as Chef de Cuisine

VIEW has announced the addition of Keith McConnell to the culinary team.

VIEW, a waterfront destination overlooking the Great South Bay has announced the addition of Keith McConnell to the culinary team. Joining executive chef William Muzio, McConnell starts his tenure at View with impressive accolades, the recent three star rating from Newsday.

Keith McConnell’s inspiration to become a chef began at home in Florida with his mother and grandmother, learning their recipes and observing their techniques in the kitchen. Growing up surrounded by cooking, Keith decided to begin his culinary career at Johnson & Wales University. During this time he simultaneously worked in the kitchen at The Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne in Miami, where he sharpened his skills in catering and learned the various stations in the restaurant kitchen. After graduating with his culinary degree in 2015 and with the sole mission in mind of furthering his career in the food world, he headed to Long Island, where he landed at Verde Wine Bar as the banquet chef, focusing on managing the catering kitchen. In 2017, he became line cook at Head of the Bay Club in Huntington, NY. After two years assisting the executive chef, he took the position as Chef de Cuisine at VIEW Restaurant under William Muzio. Keith oversees the VIEW kitchen on a daily basis and develops the menu, pulling inspiration from our local bounty of seafood and produce. Keith strives for creativity in the kitchen by exploring flavors that people do not get to experience often, hoping to expand their palates and delight their taste buds.
