Cops: Man Charged in West Hempstead Bank Robbery

A man faces charged after Nassau County Police say he held up two banks in West Hempstead and East Meadow.
Detectives said Thomas Donohue, 48, went to TD Bank in East Meadow at 12:50 p.m. Thursday and verbally demanded money from a teller. The teller handed over an unknown amount of cash and Donohue fled before being located by police in Uniondale, cops said.

Police later connected Donohue to a robbery at Capital One Bank in West Hempstead on Sept. 9. The bank had been robbed the day before by another man.
Donohue was charged with two counts of third-degree robbery and will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
