Man Hospitalized After Attempted Robbery in Malverne
Incident occurred early Saturday morning, police say.

Police are investigating an attempted robbery in Malverne early Saturday morning that sent a man to the hospital.
According to police, a 56-year-old man on Croyden Street was approached by two men who attempted to take his money at about 12:13 a.m.
The assailants struck the man in the face, causing the man to fall to the ground, police said.

The would-be robbers then fled the scene without proceeds in a vehicle westbound on Lakeview Avenue, police said.
The victim sustained contusions to his nose and eyes and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

No arrests have been made. The first suspect is described as a white man, 6-foot, medium build, short black hair, wearing black pants with a red shirt. The second suspect is described as a black man, 6-foot, thin build, short black afro, wearing black pants, black shirt, beige jacket and work boots.
