2 Great Cats, 1 Adorable Pooch, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree
3 Great Animals Available for Adoption Just in Time for the Holidays!
With Christmas just a week away, why not fulfill the wish of one of these special animals and give them a forever home! Its my pleasure to introduce you to Tulip, Linda and Tabasco.
The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter has a very special must-meet-dog named Tulip! Few things in life are prettier than flowers, and this gorgeous gal named Tulip is no exception. Tulip is 3 years old, about 65 pounds, and is in great need of leaving a shelter and finding a warm home as soon as possible. While no dog deserves to live their life in a shelter, some dogs just don’t do well in the shelter environment and Tulip is one of those dogs. Tulip is a staff favorite and has been called “a GREAT COUCH POTATO” who would love to curl up on the couch with you on a rainy day. Tulip listens really well, she aims to please, and she even tested well with cats in the shelter!!! As per the shelter’s trainer: “When Tulip was first evaluated, she was stiff and intense with the helper dog. In more recent testing, she has been social and low-key with another dog with gradual introduction.” So, if you are looking for a great dog, or maybe an addition to your family, Tulip could be for you, especially if you currently have a low key dog or a cat. Tulip also knows LOTS of commands including “sit”, “down”, “crawl”, “roll over” and “shake”. Need I say more?! Tulip has shown some resource guarding at the shelter, so she is available to an experienced home who will continue with her training. If you are someone you know would be interested in making Tulip your new best friend, please contact the TOH Shelter as soon as possible at 516-785-5220, or better yet, head on down and meet Tulip today!
