Accusation

Another voice resurrected today from obscurity.

Unfortunately it spoke with a long submerged memory and yes, a new public accusation,

The accused popular celebrity (until now will) be forced to dredge back in time and either admit guilt (unlikely) or attempt unsuccessfully to clear his forever tarnished reputation,

The accused happens to be one of my favorite comedians, and cherished because few make me even giggle. As the Fabulous Four will agree. my sense of humor is not robust.

I did, however spend several hours convulsed in laughter watching one of his classic films. I watched it alone during a period of premonition when my husband was hospitalized after shoulder surgery.

I was transported from the tentacles of fear that evening into the comfort of silliness

And today I remembered another loss. The utter magic of Placido Domingo’s voice now absent from the airwaves.

Blessedly, it is still captured on my Apple playlist.

The third voice that helped me on my journey of loneliness after the Autumn morning when my beloved and I said adieu has also been canceled.

The wonderful TV production, House of Cards, replaced the lead character after his inquisition began and of course, the anticipated new season eventually never arrived with his character intact,

I am confused as to Who or what determines this death by accusation and deprives the public from deciding how to judge.

Is the loss of talent to be determined by one lone unconfirmed “memory” of another aging accuser?

I would like to believe it is not so, but the latest accusation indicates there may be profit in “lost memories” especially if they are defamatory.

And frankly, I resent the loss of amazing talents that brought solace to my world.

However, I believe tonight I will stream “WHAT ABOUT BOB?” for the umpteenth time to quell any sadness,
