The season of lights is upon us.

Advent with its ornate wreaths and symbolic stately candles illuminate all spaces scattering doubt, and calling to mind that the time to prepare for the Lord’s coming is here.

With four weeks to devote to the task, and expand one’s perspective, there are many ways to access this sweet spot.

The delicate dancing flames pierce the inky darkness but also cast shadows that remind us of our human flaws, voids, and overt side.

It doesn’t have to be so mysterious as the world naturally operates in duality – light and dark, good and evil.

The true focal point needn’t be the polarized opponents, but rather the midpoint where balance is strived for and gradually eventually achieved.

Advent commemorates the birth of Christ and the second coming of Christ with its celebratory invocations, rituals, and customs, and summons excitatory expectation and hope for eons.

Denoting a new Liturgical year, Advent, marks a new beginning in the church’s calendar just as Jesus Himself did.

In the fourth and fifth centuries, scholars believe that Advent was when new Christians prepared to be Baptized, and later became correlated with Christ’s revelatory second coming.

Life is always evolving, restoring reparations, moving forward, seeking higher standards.

Wisdom accompanies this innate process and supplies required knowledge as new experiences and ways of being unfold.

Advent candles represent the fragile and joyful light amidst obscurity.

It is hope in the season of darkness as we ready ourselves for Christ, who IS the Light of the world. “Arrival and Coming.” Advent is here. What will you prepare?
