Believe

Believe

Often touted as the moniker for cheerful Christmas fare, it is also a conviction of specific sentiments that align with history, holy devotions, personal penchants, and even what type of car you are inclined to purchase.

These beliefs are usually deep rooted and come fortified with ancestral perceptions and protocols that are adhered to with precision and dedication.

‘Believe’ may have sprouted as a jolly seasonal strategy calling forth nostalgia and faithful creeds, but quickly erupted into a catch-all phrase that adorns everything from postage stamps and songs to deliberately placed plagues that remind and encourage one to do so.

However, your beliefs are so much more, and frame your very being with understandings and preferences as simple as food choices and self-care to world views, morality, and biases.

Beliefs can be anchoring and are acquired consciously and unwittingly from childhood with intentional and inadvertent parental input.

As one matures, society’s persuasions may portray a diversity of opinions and choices that cause a deep questioning and possible disconnection to one’s previously established values.

Often these acquired perspectives incite negative emotions as they clash with entrenched principles, which can be confusing and guilt inducing especially if one may be contemplating the dissolution of important ties and long honored ideologies.

Forging a novel path can be overwhelming but is often accompanied by an inner knowing that cannot be denied or ignored.

We are living in a challenging era that mandates individuality and uniqueness which is precedented by trusting God’s ever-present guidance.

The pathway is no longer wedged with a bifurcation but rather is multiple burgeoning trails sprouting outward like a flourishing root system eager to penetrate the nascent soil filled with promise and hope.

What do you believe? It’s time to dream big!

~ “Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe? All things are possible for one who believes,” Mark 9:23. ~
