The Christmas Christ

We look to the Holy Bible for help, encouragement, and inspiration. Spanning the ages and profiling the ills and proclivities of mankind, there is something for everyone who is willing to turn its pages. The sacred Scriptures depict all the aspects of the human condition, which are jelly-rolled in faith, and sprinkled with frailty and weakness of the flesh and a potent predisposition to cling to free will despite the seemingly apocalyptic fanfare it has created. Oh my, doesn’t all of this swirling adversity realize that Christmas is upon us?!

In need of a Christmas passage, sage advice from the Biblical Greats, or a comforting paragraph or two that stills your being long enough for Jesus to shine His Light unto you? Even though there are no verses labeled as “Christmas” in the Old or New Testament as this term did not exist in the era of prophecy, or when Jesus walked the earth, its sparkling foreshadowing are crystal clear. One could correctly assert that it is a man-made word born through Him, and coined through our semantics. “Christ” means the prophesied Messiah – the Anointed One, and “mas” affirms where the Eucharist is evermore, and we are called to partake, worship, and give thanks. He was conceived and birthed free of human sin, which is diminished only by the fact that He is the Son of God. “God” to be exact, and not some convoluted or misappropriated truth as He is the foretold of Messiah, who changed everything. The “New” came with a novel mindset, that at times contradicted the “Old” revered laws and customs, and rattled the dry dusty bones of antiquity. Times change, people change, ideas and techniques change. It is not necessarily through fault or lack, but rather because of God’s Will and Wisdom. We must always recognize that He has the panoramic view, while we dabble with fragmentations of the past, present, and future, broken interpersonal promises, and remiss casualties that sprout at our heels, and sometimes knock at our doors. Christ Jesus is the unchanging, ever constant in our lives. He has been delivered to us from the prophecy of the Old. They had the Words; we have the Body, Heart, and Soul of Christ.
