Fundraiser at Swirls and Twirls Yogurt Shop

In celebration of National Kids Day on Sunday, August 7, 2011, Swirls and Twirls self-serve frozen yogurt shop in Massapequa Park (www.swirlsandtwirlsusa.com) will launch a wrist-band fund-raiser to benefit CASK, the Creative Art Space for Kids Foundation (www.creativeartspaceforkids.org).

CASK/Get Your Swirls On bracelets will be sold for $1.00, with all sales proceeds going directly to CASK.  In return for a bracelet purchase, Swirls and Twirls will give two free ounces of yogurt to every person wearing the teal color CASK/Get Your Swirls On bracelet every Thursday from 4-7 pm, August 11 through October 27.

In addition to the fund-raiser launch on August 7, co-owner Joe Sala, a member of the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce, invites parents to “Make a Date with Your Kids” to come to Swirls and Twirls to celebrate Kids Day. There will be music, free Wi-Fi and a free Kids Day drawing for children 12 and under.  One lucky youngster will win free yogurt for a month and so will the grown up of his/her choice.

National Kids Day was created in 1994 to encourage adults to spend more meaningful time with their children.  “As parents, we don’t need an excuse to celebrate our kids and all that they bring to our lives,” says Sala. “But it’s always nice to have one.”
