Fairfield Hosts High Tech Leprechaun Hunt

Massapequa students use QR codes and iPads for interactive lesson.

Fairfield kindergarten students in Mrs. Valentine’s class went on an extraordinary hunt for a leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. They used QR codes and an iPad application to read those codes to find clues as to the whereabouts of the leprechaun. The leprechaun created these codes and placed them in locations throughout the building. As the class found the codes, they used the iPad to read the codes, which led them to the next location. The search led them back to their classroom where the leprechaun had left a special message for each student.
