Falling…

We all stumble periodically.

Sometimes we land flat on the ground sprawled out like a starfish, winded and dazed, wondering what happened.

From this perch, which equates us to the baseline of life, one can observe not only a different perspective, but a realization that there is only room for upward mobility.

With any fears of seeping lower banished, one can pick oneself up, brush off the debris, and start again.

Afterall, isn’t that what life is: a bunch of beginnings and endings, with high and low points?

Many feel that quickly resuming the rapid pace of life is mandatory, while others adjust more slowly.

Speed is not necessarily an asset.

However, what we place in the interim is crucial, personal, and tells a story, that is entirely your creation.

While the ground level offers a fertile landing laden with possibilities and opportunities, it also offers a stationary secure launch pad, for those who want to take flight.

Choosing your journey requires some foresight, but please do not succumb to the worldly pressure to succeed at all costs or outdo another.

No matter your momentum or desired goal, rest assured, it is perfect for you. Jesus fell three times while carrying His cross uphill to Calvary.

His bloodied body collapsed upon the Earth that had tenderly and generously supported Him His whole life, and now served as momentary relief from the excruciating passion.

He paused, but the unyielding centurions demanded that he rise.

Struggling, Jesus obliged.

He fell again, and Simon of Cyrene was ordered to help carry the cross.

What may have started as an unwanted chore for Simon swiftly transformed to sympathy and compassion.

Simon shared the welcomed burden.

Jesus fell for a third time.

Completely consumed by exhaustion, overwhelmed, and viewing the two crosses already occupied in the near distance, He tumbled freefall to the dry sand, while His own Cross pinned and taxed His shoulders and back.

Perspective is everything. Has yours been altered by Lent?

Jesus fell, again and again, and He Rose. May the Peace and Joy of the Risen Christ be yours.

Happy Easter! He is Risen!
