Free Wi-Fi Now Available At TOBAY Beach

Local beach goers can now enjoy free internet access while lounging at TOBAY Beach.

MASSAPEQUA, NY – Local beach goers can now enjoy free Wi-Fi while lounging at TOBAY Beach in Massapequa.

On Wednesday, the Town of Oyster Bay launched free wireless internet access for residents and visitors of the beach.

The network, titled “FreeTOBAYWi-Fi,” has been installed on the ocean-side of the beach through the use of previously allocated capital funds.

“Residents enjoy spending summer days at TOBAY Beach and have our sandy shore their own waterfront property," Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino said. "To enjoy all the comforts of home, we have launched free wireless internet access at the beach so residents can share real-time photos with friends; turn on a video for their toddlers and even access apps and maps to plan their next lap of the day.”

To use the internet, visitors just have to select “FreeTOBAYWi-Fi” under available Wi-Fi networks on their smartphone or tablet, and then accept the standard terms and conditions.

“This new TOBAY wireless network brings more connectivity to beach, giving residents the ability to keep tabs on their favorite sport team, stay in touch with their children and even work from the beach while keeping their feet in the sand," Councilman Louis Imbroto said.
