Great Dogs and Adoption Events This Week

Calling all dog lovers...this is truly a great weekend to adopt a new best friend! Please read all about Damien, Taz, Buck, Portia and Hank.

Damien and Taz are simply adorable and in need of a home, fast! Their owner is going into the Army and really needs to find her babies a good, loving home as soon as possible. Damien is an 11 month old Boxer mix and Taz is a 6 month old Pit mix. Both dogs are fixed, micro-chipped, have had all their vaccinations and get ready for this- they are both house and crate trained!! Both Damien and Taz are described as very sweet, mushy pooches who get along with children and even other dogs (no cats please). And whose the tall, dark and handsome Flat-Coated Retriever mix? Oh, that’s Buck! Buck is between 1 and 2 years old with perhaps a touch of Shepherd. Buck is a shining star at Last Hope Animal Rescue in Wantagh, reports A+ scores in his buddy classes. Buck is a great dog and would love to become your new best friend. And right next door at The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is Portia and Hank.Portia is gorgeous! Her beautiful blonde and white fur really help her stand out in the crowd. Portia is petite at just under 50 lbs, and is adored by the staff and volunteers at the shelter. Portia is a playful dog but also quite calm and well mannered. She greets people with an enthusiastic tail wag, sits for her treats and excels at companion behaviors such as lying down calmly by the side of her human friend. She loves playing with toys and fetch. Not to mention she is social with dogs, and even tested well with cats! Call the shelter today to meet Portia! 516-785-5220.

Next, meet Hank! He is a super playful energetic puppy (about 1 year old) in need of a good home. Hank is great with dogs, super cute, longish hair, and smart!! Hank loves to play fetch, doesn’t pull on the leash and responds well to training. Hank would love to be out of the shelter and into a forever home as soon as possible.
