Hobby Lobby To Open First Nassau Store

The new store is expected to bring 35 to 50 jobs.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - Hobby Lobby announced on Tuesday plans to open its first Nassau County store.

The latest store for the craft store chain will open in Massapequa Park at the Sunrise Promenade Shopping Center on 5278 Sunrise Highway.

The new 40,000-square-foot store will open at the site of the former Sports Authority.

This will be the third Long Island store for Hobby Lobby. In June, the franchise opened its first store in Commack.

In addition, in October Hobby Lobby announced plans to open a second store in Bay Shore, expected to open in 2018.

The new Massapequa Park store is expected to bring about 35 to 50 jobs to the community. An opening date has not yet been announced.

The Oklahoma City-based chain offers more than 70,000 crafting and home decor products including floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, wearable art, wedding supplies, arts and crafts, jewelry making, scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies.
