It is a celebration that highlights eight sacred days starting with Resurrection Sunday and extending to the following one, which is presently revered as Sunday of Divine Mercy.

The stunningly miraculous and powerful events of the Risen Christ conjoined with its promises and graces that emerged from a selfless and courageous act require more than a twenty-four-hour period to digest the array of mercies afforded to sinners everywhere, and grants a sustained reflectance upon the mysteries of the Risen Christ and our own human resurrection through the purging and claiming of each Soul through Baptism.

Easter is lauded as the highest Catholic Holiday of the whole ecclesiastical year, and depicts a joyful declaration of Christ’s marvelous victory over death, while the octave week allows us to sit with this sublime Divine energy and procures parallel congruencies of reflection and jubilation with each sequential day equating perpetual Easter blessings.

Octave is defined as ‘eighth’ in Latin, and originally premiered as a weekly Resurrection celebration every eight days or each Sunday.

Eventually it was abbreviated to eight days of commemorative exuberance.

Observance, honoring, and remembrance.

“This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice in it,” Psalm 118:24. Alleluia! “Glory to God in the highest. And on earth peace to men of good will…,” The Gloria.

Will you Remember Him?

~”…Jesus took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, ‘Take and eat; this is my body.’ Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them saying, ‘Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins,’” Matthew 26:26-28. ~
