Incoming Massapequa High School Students Prepare For New School Year
The students will officially beginning the new school year on Wednesday.

Students entering Massapequa High School for the first time got ready to begin a new school year during an orientation program last week.
“Welcome to high school,” Principal Patrick DiClemente said to 10th-graders and other newcomers to Massapequa High School during the program on Aug. 31.
He greeted members of the Class of 2020, who come to the main building after a year at the Ames Campus, and invited them to take part in the many academic, athletic and extracurricular offerings.

Speakers included Executive Assistants to the Principal Michael Quigley and Deja Berry, Dean of Student Kenneth Wing and Tricia LiVecchi, and Executive Assistant for Guidance Paul Weber.
They reviewed the schedule, school policies, transportation and lunch procedures, school culture and expectations, and support services available to students.

“It’s cool to do well,” Wing said in encouraging students to explore their individual passions. “People recognize your talents in this school.”
DiClemente told the incoming students that while they are coming to a much bigger school, they will be able to take advantage of challenging courses in a top-rate learning environment with newly renovated science labs and a new athletic field.
The students will be officially begin at the new school on the first day of classes on Wednesday.
