It’s Not

Esteemed Lady,

Oh, be careful.........

I have seen this happen before, and it is not pretty.

Although your coiffure is exquisite, your face apparently unlined, and your costume impeccable those who view you are rightfully worried because

All who are in proximity are shattered, and the pieces will never fit together properly again.

Your obvious rage will incite a stream of venom that must consume every iota of peace or possibility of reconciliation within view.

It really doesn’t matter if you believe the cause is valid or not. There are countless other ways to seek justice. A myriad of solutions that will leave fewer burnt ashes of humanity behind.

Your obvious tantrum of emotional excess will wipe out any realistic counterpart. Although it may temporarily satisfy your quest for a piece of another’s flesh, others in your world must soon sweep up the pieces. The Pyrrhic victory will only leave you depleted of accomplishing any good from hereon.

This is how you will be remembered. It is not a pretty picture of a once impressive woman before she bonded with a coat of lava.

Oh, be careful.........

As a child I heard the words, “I have a terrible temper,” and then I watched decades later in horror when a younger woman repeated them. Sadly now I hear it for the third time.

And I am so sorry because both times I encountered such violent emotion it defied reconciliation. I stood by in grief when a wildfire erupted, and it was never quenched.

Bystanders survived but with scarring, that eventually consumed all the wealth of love that had been carefully accumulated throughout the years..

I do so wish you had controlled your wrath. It could have been well hidden under common sense with a calm facade, and an ability to seek peace.

I now see that possibility obliterated by an unhealthy compulsion toward retribution, revenge and perhaps a solace for salving an ego. Is that what caused it?

Or is there another hidden secret that has made all discipline disappear and lurk in the forever forgotten yesterdays of history?

Oh, please be careful.............

There are other ways, and sadly, you well may regret not opening that door of possibility.

Time may teach you to regret drinking the tempting flask of revenge, because it is not only bitter but always unpalatable.

History will embrace wisdom and vilify revenge.

Oh, please be careful. It is not too late.
