A Lack of Interest

As the days increase and so does my age, I rely more on entertainment from other sources than those enjoyed in the past.

Obviously, that includes a loss of rapport with missing friends of yore, Those were the memorable days when we enjoyed moments and perhaps hours swapping humor, problems and yes, mites of harmless gossip with other kindred souls who shared empathy.

All, this, of course, is an abject apology for the time now spent with my TV screen.

However, not with live commentaries, but mostly streaming and fictional friends,

And I have discovered something quite surprising.

While I can fall deeply in love, (a term used loosely) with a character, dear Sgt. Morse, and then later beloved Endeavor, it is never a long term relationship,

Rather more like a bit of a flirt? Do I dare use that forgotten word.

However, our relationship is never lengthy, but inevitably fleeting because I become, oh so bored, and that terminates my channel choices.

I am beginning to wonder if this unusual emotion is also applicable to the American public’s current reaction to the complete cast of characters currently in public domain,

And yes, including the political arena on all sides of the crowded aisle.

In my admittedly narrow point of view, it also embraces celebrities marching in tandem, not merely to a highly publicized altar but, but also announcing relationships, pending, current or severed,with or without rancor.

I have been able to give dear Sgt. Morse an emotional sabbatical, but I wonder if I have the flexibility to apply that to the real life names and announcements flooding both live TV and news print.

Or am I alone with my lack of interest, and perhaps should be totally honest and admit boredom?
