Man High On Drugs Fled Cops On Southern State, Had Meth In Car: Police
The man fled police until his car became wedged between two cars that were stopped at the end of an exit ramp Monday night, police say.

A Queens man arrested for driving while impaired by drugs was found in possession of meth while driving on the Southern State Parkway Monday night, according to State Police.
At about 8 p.m., a Brentwood trooper was alerted to a suspicious car traveling on the eastbound Southern State Parkway, that had reportedly been following another car from a home in Queens, police said.
The trooper established a stationary patrol in the area of Exit 29 (State Route 107) and identified the suspicious car, a 2006 Volvo S60, that was following a family in their Toyota in North Massapequa.

The trooper tried to pull the Volvo over, but the driver failed to comply and began to flee, police said.
The trooper pursued the Volvo, until it exited the parkway at Exit 33 (State Route 109) in East Farmingdale, where it attempted to pass in between two cars that were stopped at the end of the exit ramp.

This resulted in the Volvo getting wedged in between the two cars, police said.
The driver, identified as 31-year-old Mohamed Z. Rahman, was then taken into custody by the trooper, police said.
Investigation revealed that Rahman was impaired by drugs and was in possession of synthetic methamphetamine, police said.
He was charged with third degree unlawful fleeing from a police officer, DWAI-drugs, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and traffic violations, police said.
Rahman will be arraigned at Suffolk County First District Court on Tuesday.
