Mall Ready for an Early Black Friday
Westfield Sunrise Mall will give out Handy Holiday Guides to help Black Friday shopping experience.
The is definitely the place to be on Black Friday for Massapequa’s savvy shopper to get in on a lot of great deals.
Even if you don’t exactly have a good game plan put together, don’t fret. The mall will be there with a holiday guide to help you in your early morning shopping experience.
“On Black Friday, we are opening at 5 a.m.,” Maria DiLeo, Marketing Director for the mall, said. “As people enter, there will be a concierge handing out holiday booklets at the six mall entrances to make it really easy for shoppers. As they open up the booklet, it’s going to tell them where the deals are.”

DiLeo said many retailers are keeping the really hot deals under wraps until the night before and sometimes just hours before Black Friday, but said there are a few deals that are public knowledge.
For example for womenand men will mark everything in the store 40 percent off until noon, and then after noon, prices will be 30 percent off. P.S. from Aeropostale, the clothing store for children, is giving each customer who spends $75 or more a teddy bear featuring the store logo. Aeropostale for adults is marking everything in the store—excluding markdowns and fragrances—50 percent off and offering select hoodies for $12.
New retailer Periwinkle Boutique will feature a 2011 Limited Edition Midnight Heart Charm by Pandora.

“I think the holiday shopping guide is going to go
over really well this year because it’s going to give people targeted shopping,” DiLeo said. It’s going to be a really good handy reference so you can look through it and say ‘Hey, this is where I need to be.’”
Big retailers like will open on Thanksgiving all day, while will open at midnight on Black Friday. J. C. Penney will open at 3 a.m. and will open at 4 a.m.
Westfield Sunrise is also featuring a recycle program for the season, giving out reusable shopping bags to shoppers who show a receipt from any store in mall.
“We’ve got a special going on at the mall management… while supplies last, we will give out reusable shopping bags. So we’re going green this holiday season. Show us your receipt and we will give you a bag. And we’ve got plenty of them.”
