Massapequa Rallies For Man Who Lost Both Parents Days Apart
Colin Clive's parents, Barbara and Dave, died just days apart. They left behind their only son, who's battling a brain tumor.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — The friends of Massapequa resident Colin Clive have rallied around him in the face of an unimaginable tragedy, and the rest of the community is joining in.
Clive's parents, Barbara and Dave, both died in the last week, just a few days apart, leaving their only son, Colin, alone. And for the past two years, he has been battling brain cancer, and is still undergoing treatment.
To help him in this incredibly difficult time, Clive's friend's set up a GoFundMe to raise money for him. In just a day, it's already raised nearly $250,000.

"We started this to make sure that Colin doesn't have to deal with mourning the loss of his parents, battling cancer and worrying about finances," said his friend Ken Carpenter, who help set up the fundraiser. "No one should have to have that burden on their shoulders."
Carpenter said that Clive's friends have rallied around him during his loss. They're all spending time with him to make sure he's OK.

In addition to funds, his group of friends is also asking anyone who wants to donate food for Clive. They set up a schedule where people can sign up to donate home-cooked meals, or order food for him, or even give gift cards.
The fundraiser set a goal of $350,000, and has already collected nearly $250,000 in a day. "If I could raise $1 million for Colin, I would," said Carpenter. "I don't have a set goal, I just want to make sure Colin is taken care of for the rest of his life. This is something he deserves."
Carpenter said he was amazed to see how many people from the community have donated to support his friend.
