Massapequa Student Named a Top Musician in the Country

A Massapequa High School bass player has been chosen to perform in the National Association for Music Education’s All-National Honors Concert Band.

“Robert is a shining example of a student musician whose talent has broken achievement levels, thanks to the combined efforts of his music teachers, his parents and his own determination and commitment,” said K-12 curriculum associate for music Dr. David Gaines in a statement. “We applaud this outstanding accomplishment and wish him well in the upcoming concert.”

Robert will join 674 talented students from across the country to perform at a gala concert on Oct. 29 in Nashville at the Presidential Ballroom of the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Conference Center. Robert is one of eight Long Island students to be honored.

Robert is the second Massapequa student to receive the honor.
