Massapequa's Jesse Findling Makes 'American Idol' Top 30
The 19-year-old survived one of the largest cuts in American Idol history Monday night, which narrowed the field from 127 to 30 singers.

MASSAPEQUA, NY. — Massapequa's own Jesse Findling continued his run on ABC's "American Idol" Monday night, surviving a cut that narrowed the competition show's field from 127 singers to just 30.
It was the second time in as many months that the 19-year-old vocalist has wowed the Idol judges, singing Adele's "Love In The Dark" in front of a packed house and the panel of judges featuring Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and former Idol winner Carrie Underwood.
"When I was younger, when I watched 'American Idol,' 'Love In The Dark' was one of those songs that I was like, 'I want to sing that on the show one day,'" Findling said on Monday night's episode.

While the Massapequa teen noted he was feeling some pressure before Monday night's performance, he didn't show it on stage.
With his parents in the crowd flanked by longtime host Ryan Seacrest, Findling received a standing ovation from the judges, with Bryan ushering him offstage with a hug.

After the episode aired, Findling took to his social media pages to thank everyone who had supported him throughout the Idol experience. That experience, he said, would be continuing into the top 30.
"I'm in the top 30 now, as you guys saw on tonight's episode, as you guys saw on tonight's episode, and saying that out loud is crazy," Findling said. "But I appreciate you guys so much, and I'm just super excited to keep going on this journey."
For Bryan, Monday night's performance could be summed up in five words.
"A star is born y'all," Bryan said on Instagram.
