Massapeua Park Trustee Harry Jacobson Dies

Longtime village official succumbs to illness.

Massapequa Park Village trustee Harry Jacobson died Tuesday following a brief illness, village officials said. He was 89.

Jacobson, was in his sixth term as a  trustee and had served the in the area for decades prior to that serving on the zoning board and in a variety of other positions.

He also served as a scout leader in the 1950s, according to Mayor Jim Altadonna.

"Massapequa Park today lost a trully special person," Altadonna said. "He was so giving of himself to the village."

Jacobson was survived by his wife Jessie, as well as his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at th located at 1050 Park Boulevard in Massapequa Park at 9 a.m.
