Nassau County Police Officers Repair Damaged Public Menorah
The menorah fell during the night and broke, but the officers were able to fix it so the community lighting could still take place.
Some kind-hearted Nassau County Police officers managed to save a holiday tradition for the Massapequa community on Sunday when they repaired a public menorah that had been damaged.
Police say that a man reported a menorah lying on the ground at 8:30 a.m. at Klestinec Park, on Broadway. Officers arrived on the scene and found that the menorah had fallen over, breaking the base and leaving it unable to stand.
The industrious officers were able to make a temporary repair to the base and stand the menorah back up, allowing it to be used for the menorah lighting scheduled for that evening.
