NCPD Releases Updated Accident Totals From Blizzard
The Nassau County Police Department said its latest accident totals covered 9 a.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY. — Accident and incident totals stemming from the ongoing blizzard in Nassau County have been updated, with the latest figures showing 75 accidents and 179 aided cases — which cover police response to medical incidents — taking place between 9 a.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday, Nassau County police said.
Police said they had also received one report of flooding, 11 reported traffic light outages and 25 reports of downed power lines across Nassau County. The accident total stood at 73 after the previous report, which cut off at 5 a.m., while the aided case count had previously stood at 153 after the 5 a.m. cutoff.
Blizzard conditions have left as much as 20 inches of snow in parts of Suffolk county, with Nassau County's highest reported total at 17 inches in Plainedge. Grocery stores across Long Island are closed Monday, and over 17,000 people have lost power since the outset of the storm. Warming spaces have also been set up across Nassau County.

Meteorologists expect heavy snowfall to continue until noon Monday, with multiple inches of snow falling per-hour.
