📰 News we're reading

• Liberty Utilities customers balk at its proposed water rate hikes (longislandpress.com) — Massapequa households served by Liberty Utilities' Merrick district could see water bills jump by about $21 a month under a proposed rate hike now before state regulators. The plan would fund pipe replacements, contaminant treatment, and other upgrades, but Nassau officials and residents are loudly objecting, arguing Liberty's already-high bills and complex fees are becoming unaffordable for many Long Islanders.
