Police: Woman Tried to Steal Pocketbook in Massapequa, Victim Fights Back
Woman tried to take pocketbook from victim who had just gone grocery shopping, cops said.

A Suffolk woman faces charges after she tried to take a pocketbook from a woman who was leaving a Massapequa grocery store, according to Nassau County Police.
Police said the 65-year-old vicim was putting groceries in her car at 11:32 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot on Hicksville Road. Meghan Solomons, 27, of Melville, approached the victim, grabbed her pocketbook, and tried to run away, cops said.
The victim chased Solomons and after a brief struggle, got her bag back, police said.

Solomons fled and left the victim with minor injuries, cops said. She refused medical attention at the scene.
After an investigation, police located Solomons at her home and charged her with third-degree robbery. She will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
