Ready or not…
the new year is upon us.
You’re probably still gasping and recovering from recently vacating the month-long holiday barrage with all its indulgences and mind-blowing hecticness, and eagerly contemplating some much needed and earned down-time and self-care.

Yet, we remain hook, line, and sinker within the magical hoopla of new year’s heaving electrified grasp with its glistening descending ball, promises of personal improvements and upgrades, and heaps of assorted unrealistic goals that will overwhelm and eventually disappoint.
Most resolutions are concocted from a place of lack, where our worst fears and self-perceived inadequacies percolate and are compounded by frustration and a scarcity of inner compassion as we stress to keep up with and surpass others.

It needn’t be this way.
Take a deep breath, and repeat: life is a mindset, and you always have a choice.
Following the collective attitude with its oh so pervasively myopic tenets immersed in superficiality and grand upstaging, with vanity posing as the shining unobtainable star, will eventually lead to despair.
Competing with countless incomparable collations of your body, bank roll, and assets, causes palpable grief and further deficiencies and self-loathing instead of that superior status we strive for but miss due to our own bottled-up insufficiencies that blind us to our already spectacular self.
Surveying and appraising outwardly eclipses our innate worth and uniqueness.
Alas, it is all about perspective, analogous to the adage of the multi-faceted glass of water that tempestuously splashes optimistic or negative connotations depending on the observer.
Are you joyfully awaiting the New Year with child-like anticipation, excitement, and a big drumroll to echo your cheer, or are you blasé or looped in a cycle of pessimism with a big scoop of defeatism?
New Year's can be an opportunity for rebirth and positive changes.
It is also an occasion to reflect, reset priorities, and reveal the true you.
Not the perfect-body, gorgeous-faced meme that has everything her heart desires and is the envy of all her friends, but the tangible incredible creation of God who has been ignored and dismissed while you attempted to patchwork that which is not broken.
That is who this world desperately needs.
You decide.
It could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
Happy New Year! May your glass of water be unbreakable, tall, full, and exactly what you envisage.
~ “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert,” Isaiah 43:19. ~
