Residents And Police Who Saved Dog Are Honored
There was an eight-day effort to rescue Toretto this summer, and the town honored those involved.

Officials gathere on Thursday to honor the people that were involved in the eight-day mission to rescue a dog this summer in Massapequa.
Hundreds of local residents, as well as the police, were involved in the efforts to bring home Toretto, a terrier-mix from Massapequa Park. Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino thanked all involved and acknowledged the great sense of community such events can foster, when neighbors band together to help one another.
