St. John the Baptist Students From Massapequa Present Research Projects

St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School Hosts First Research Symposium

WEST ISLIP, NY – On October 6th eight members of the St. John the Baptist GENESIS program presented their own research projects to over 70 guests, students, family members and faculty at the first St. John the Baptist Scientific Research Symposium. These students are in their third year of the GENESIS program. This program is designed to teach students the fundamentals of reading, understanding and then conducting their own original research projects. The symposium served as their first chance to showcase their original work. Students presented on a number of different topics spanning the range of sciences from psychology to mathematics and even environmental chemistry. A summary of the presenters and projects is listed below:

Mr. David Erlanger, the Director of the GENESIS program, stated that “It was a special night to honor and celebrate the hard work and dedication of these young scholars. I am very proud of each of these students and the work they have put into these projects. It is amazing to see the progress they have made in this program.”
