Taxpayer and Mandate Relief Press Confrence + 2 hour Q&A & enlistment of volunteers Bill A8603

STOPS STEP INCREASES Triborough mandates that salary steps increase even when a contract
expires. The bill would end the practice and allow both school boards and
unions to negotiate in good faith.



CAPS Binding Arbitration Police and firefighters are entitled to mandatory arbitration. The bill
would limit arbitration awards to 2%.

PENsION ABUSE
Public sector employees are currently entitled to a taxpayer
guaranteed defined benefit pension.  The
bill will require future public sector employees to enroll in a defined
contribution pension similar to private sector employees.
