Man Who Harassed Patchogue Woman and Her Granddaughter Sentenced

Man sentenced to prison on Thursday.

A man convicted last month of stalking a Patchogue grandmother and her granddaughter after meeting them at a local library was sentenced on Thurday to seven years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, District Attorney Thomas Spota announced.

Warren T., also known as Warren Granby, was convicted of stalking, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

For over a year, the 35-year-old T. harassed the pair by repeatedly visiting their home and the child’s bus stop. Jurors learned during the two week trial that T. would visit the home of the victims and call for the child from the front lawn, promising the girl, now 11 years old, that he would “take care of her and protect her,” according to prosecutors.

During Thursday’s sentencing, the grandmother addressed the court, telling judge John Toomey that T. is a “conniving criminal” and her granddaughter is “an innocent child put through hell and is still living through it.”

Police arrested T. on Jan. 14 2014 for assault after he severely beat the victims’ 76-year-old landlord, who had ordered T. to leave his property.
