Nassau Man Charged With 2 Murders, 1 MS-13 Related: Police
Police say the man was charged with murders from 2016 and 2018, one of which was related to MS-13 violence.

A Roosevelt man was arrested yesterday and charged in two murders, one of which was connected to MS-13 violence, police said.
Carlos Alfaro, 22, of East Pennywood Avenue, was charged in connection with the murders of Carlos Ulises Ventura-Zelaya in 2016 and the MS-13 slaying of Josue Amaya Leonor in 2018.
According to police, Carlos Ulises Ventura-Zelaya, 24, was shot to death outside of a building in Roosevelt on Oct. 14, 2016. Police had not been able to identify his killer until now.

Police found Josue Amaya Leonor's body in the Roosevelt Preserve on May 30, 2018 after following a lead that came from the arrest of Josue Figueroa-Velasquez, 18, of Freeport, who was charged in connection with the 2017 murder of 16-year-old Angel Soler. Leonor's remains were found about two miles from where Soler was buried.
Police said that the murder of 19-year-old Leonor was almost certainly MS-13 related.

Alfaro is charged with two counts of second-degree murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead later today.
