Police: 3 Men Robbed Teen in Baldwin

Detectives searching for information in robbery of 17-year-old on Emerson Avenue in Baldwin.

A teenager was put in a chokehold and robbed on a Baldwin street Saturday evening, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops said the 17-year-old victim was walking on Emerson Avenue at 6:15 p.m. when he was approached from behind by three men.

One of the men placed the teen in a chokehold and demanded his property, police said. The victim handed over his iPhone and a wallet that contained cash and personal papers, police said.

The victim said one of the men had a silver handgun with a black handle in his waistband. The gun was not used to threaten the victim, detectives said.

No description was available for the men but the victim said they were all wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, cops said.

The victim declined any further medical assistance, cops said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
