Police Arrest Man Wanted For LI Deacon's 2017 Stabbing Death
Police say the man was arrested in Memphis and taken back to Nassau, where he will stand trial.

Police in Memphis, Tennessee today arrested a Nassau man wanted in connection with the stabbing death of Deacon Patrick Logsdon in Roosevelt in 2017.
According to Nassau police, the Memphis police, with help from the U.S. Marshal's Office, arrested Andre Patton, 47, of Roosevelt. He is being extradited back to Nassau County to stand trial.
According to police, Patton stabbed Logsdon to death outside of Anthony House, a transitional house for homeless men run by the Society of St. Vincent dePaul of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, on Nov. 3. Logsdon's body was found outside at 10:22 p.m., where he was pronounced dead.

A day later, police announced that they were looking for Patton, who lived in the home, in connection with the murder, and warned that he was considered armed and dangerous. He was arrested on Friday in Memphis.
As a result of Logsdon's death, the Society of Saint Vincent dePaul announced that it would not be accepting new people into Anthony House and was determining the best way to move forward.

Patton is charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday, May 5.
