Arrest Made After Poughkeepsie Apartment Fire

One woman was taken to the hospital and five residents were displaced.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A Poughkeepsie woman is facing a felony arson charge after a fire Sunday night at the Corlies Manor Apartments on Maple Street. Marjorie P. Savoy, 29, was arrested and was being held pending arraignment Monday.

As a result of the fire, five residents were displaced and one woman was taken to the hospital, the Poughkeepsie Journal said. Others were treated for smoke inhalation.

The blaze started shortly after 9 p.m. and was extinguished with a half hour.
