Bronx Man Accused Of Having Illegal Drugs He Was Going To Sell
Police said he was initially pulled over for a traffic violation.
CLAVERACK, NY — A New York City man was accused of having illegal drugs after a traffic stop in the town of Claverack Tuesday.
The New York State Police said Lydell D. Washington, 44, of Bronx, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one of which was for intent to sell, and one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, all felonies.
Around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, troopers stopped a 2003 Volvo XC70 for a traffic violation on Route 23B.

An investigation found Washington did not have a license to operate a motor vehicle.
Troopers also said he was in possession of 108 grams of cocaine and about 314 grams of the opioid buprenorphine and naloxone.

Washington was arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court and sent to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
He is next scheduled to appear in court Nov. 5.
