Columbia County Men Accused Of Burglary Elks Lodge
Police said one of the men was found inside the lodge with burglar tools and some stolen money.

RED HOOK, NY — Two Columbia County men were accused of burglarizing the Elks Lodge in the town of Red Hook.
The New York State Police said, on Thursday, Scott P. Hapeman, 50, and Brad R. Hapeman, 48, both of the town of Greenport, were arrested in connection with the club's burglary.
Around 4:10 a.m. Thursday, troopers went to the Elks Lodge for the activation of a burglary alarm.

Troopers said the power and alarm lines were cut and there was damage to the interior of the building, as well as damaged cash registers, lottery machines, a safe and a jukebox with money gone.
With the help of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and Red Hook Police Department, Scott Hapeman was found with burglar tools and stolen money still inside the lodge, police said.

He was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree grand larceny, all felonies, and possession of burglar tools, a misdemeanor.
Brad Hapeman was located nearby. He was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, a felony.
Both men were arraigned in the Town of Red Hook Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
