Man Who Took Photos On Senate Floor Jan. 6 Arrested: Feds
Christopher Patrick Moynihan was arrested Thursday in Dutchess County, authorities said.

SALT POINT, NY — A Dutchess County man was presented in White Plains federal court Friday after being accused of participating in the Jan. 6 riots that took place in the United States Capitol Building.
Christopher Patrick Moynihan, 30, of Salt Point, was arrested Thursday at his home in Dutchess County, WNBC New York reported.
According to the charging document from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, Moynihan was seen in videos as being on the floor of the Senate using his cell phone to take photos of official congressional notes and documents.

Prosecutors said the FBI National Threat Operations center received a tip Jan. 27 that Moynihan was captured on a publicly available video taken Jan. 6 in and around the Capitol building.
The tipster said they previously worked with him for about a year and provided a cell phone number for him, authorities said. Verizon cellular records placed the cell phone in an area that included the interior of the Capitol building on Jan. 6.

A second tipster, who also said they worked with Moynihan, confirmed his image and voice on the video, officials said.
Moynihan is charged with entering a restricted building "without lawful authority to do so," disorderly conduct and impeding an official government proceeding, according to court papers.
The person identified as Moynihan can be heard on the video, while on the floor of the Senate, as saying, "There's got to be something we can use against these f------ scumbags" as he was seen photographing documents from a senator's desk.
The House of Representatives and the Senate were in the process of accepting Electoral College votes that would confirm former Vice President Joseph Biden had won the 2020 presidential election when the Capitol Building was stormed and breached.
There have been several people from the Hudson Valley accused of participation in the riots that occurred Jan. 6 in the nation's capital.
