Police Respond To Barricaded Person In Wappinger

WAPPINGER, NY — A person was taken into custody after barricading himself in a home in the town of Wappinger Saturday.

New York State Police said multiple law enforcement agencies responded to Cooper Road in Wappinger for a report of a barricaded person.

The person was taken into custody without further incident shortly after police arrived.

No one was injured, and there is no threat to the public, police said.

State police in Wappinger were assisted by the Town of Fishkill Police Department, Village of Fishkill Police Department, and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is going, police said, and more information will be provided when it becomes available.
