Poughkeepsie Rally Protests Immigration Ban
Hundreds of people marched and chanted in the City of Poughkeepsie.
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Hundreds of people chanted Wednesday on the steps of the City of Poughkeepsie post office after marching from Mill Street to protest the Trump administration’s ban on refugees.
Among the protesters was former Arlington school district superintendent Frank Pepe, who said that the ban has created fear, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
Organizers told twcnews.com that they wanted to send a message to the new president that the executive order should be revoked and America’s image as a safe haven for war victims should be restored.
