Reward Offered For Info On Dogs Tossed Out Of Car
The dogs, one of which was seriously injured, are being cared for by the Broome County Humane Society.

Humane organizations are teaming up with the state police to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people who threw two dogs out of a car on an upstate highway Dec. 12. The reward is $16,500 and comes from donations from the Animal Legal Defense Fund, PETA, a private individual and the New York State Humane Association.
The incident, which was seen by a truck driver, occurred Dec. 12 on I-81 in the Whitney Point area of Cortland County, cnycentral.com said.

The truck driver was carrying a badly injured dog with another smaller dog following behind him.
A state police K-9 handler bandaged the injured dog, putting a splint on its leg. The dog was kept warm with a blanket and the truck driver's sweatshirt.

The dogs are being cared for by the Broome County Humane Society.
One of the dogs, now named Trooper, was severely injured and had to have his front leg amputated, wkbw.com said.
The other dog, which has been named Adam, was not injured.
